TCAV mourns the the passing of Hall of Fame inductee Don Cameron. Don’s full profile can be seen on this site but he is fondly remembered as a true gentleman and great coach launching and shaping the careers of many young players and future coaches. Don became a TCAV Advanced Coach (Club Pro) in 1973 and later went on to become a Level 3 (High Performance) Coach.

Don was the Head Coach at Geelong LTC from 1973 to 1987 and then the Manager/Coach at Geelong Indoor Tennis Centre from 1987-1997. Don also took pride in being the Coach of the Korean Davis Cup Teams (1979-1984) and Korean National Junior Teams (1985.1989,1994) taking the Davis Cup team to the Easter Zone semi-finals against New Zealand in 1981.

Don will also be fondly remembered by the hundreds of students he taught and inspired at Morongo Girls College (1974-1994) Geelong College (Boys 1992 to 2001 / Girls 2002 to 2004) and the Kardinia International School in Geelong (1996-2003).

It should also be acknowledged that Don further helped develop the game internationally by providing education through coaching seminars and clinics in Japan (2003), Korea (2004, 2006) and Indonesia (2002-2006).

The whole TCAV community collectively and respectfully passes on our deepest condolences to Margaret, Andrew, Andrea, Lucas, Jane, and family.

Don will be sadly missed by all but leaves a monumental legacy in the tennis world. Rest In Peace Don Cameron.
