James Cooper wins trip to New York

TCAV is delighted to announce that JD coach James Cooper from the Elsternwick Park Tennis Centre was the lucky winner of the $3000 contribution prize from the TCAV to attend the USTA / USPTA conference in New York City in September 2018. James name was drawn out at the TCAV Awards night at RSY last Sunday.

TCAV continues the tradition of recognising the great achievents of our members. On Sunday December 3 four of our loyal members stepped up to the podium at the magnificent Royal South Yarra Tennis Club to receive their prestigious awards. Each spoke eloquently and passionately about their life as a tennis coach and their love for the sport and their profession.

Legend Norm Cahill at 86 years of age caught the train down from Nagambeee to be a part of the celebrations together with many of our Hall of Fame inductees. These included Lois Plowman, Terry Stone, Colin Price, and Larry Dempster.

Congratulations and thank you to all the players, officials, tournaments directors, and winners of the TCAV Platinum tournament conducted at the brilliant Hume Tennis Centre and one of Australia’s longest running tournaments the TCAV JT Gold based at MCC Glen Iris TC

The most recent was a brilliant three part Business Development workshop conducted at the Mantra Hotel in St Kilda. The presentations including internal gurus Steve Marquis, David Phillips, and Kane Dewhurst and other external on multiple topics including business planning, human resources, job applications etc, etc were extremely valuable and gave great insight and direction in taking your business and business practices to the next level

Inaugural TCAV Workshop a success

TCAV conducted the first of our series of workshops on Friday 19th May to compliment the fantastic opportunities currently offered by Tennis Australia Coach Membership. Organised by Board member AJ Muscillo and hosted at St Andrews Gardiner Tennis Club by Richard Bruce Smith, TCAV members attended free of charge and were presented with two excellent professional workshops.
Master Racquet Technician and head stringer at CET Stringer in Melbourne Peter Haberberger conducted a very practical, interactive, and informative workshop on racquet stringing enjoyed by all.

TCAV USPTA Tour Report Las Vegas and Indian Wells 2016

Long standing TCAV stalwart and former George Gilmore Memorial Trophy winner Mark “Sheppo” Sheppard ventured with a TCAV touring party in September to the USPTA World Tennis Conference. Mark was the lucky winner of our annual member draw to receive $3000 to attend an international conference of your choice.
